Frequently asked questions
Which iPhones can run the on-device AI?
Thymesis uses Apple Intelligence for card recognition. That requires an iPhone 15 Pro or later with Apple Intelligence enabled in Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri. The Settings tab shows an “Available” badge when your device is ready. No API key or account is needed.
Where is my data stored? Is it private?
Your cards, events, notes and photos are stored on your device and back up only to your own iCloud if you enable it. Recognition runs on-device — card images are never sent to our servers, and there are no third-party analytics or ads. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
How do I back up and restore my contacts?
Open Settings inside the App. Under iCloud Backup, tap “Back Up Now” to save everything to your iCloud Drive, or “Restore from iCloud” to merge a backup into your current data. You can also export a JSON file with “Save Backup to File” and re-import it with “Restore from File”.
A field was read incorrectly. What can I do?
Open the contact and tap Edit to correct any field by hand. For best recognition, lay the card on a flat, contrasting surface, fill the frame, and keep it steady — Auto-Detect captures it once it's sharp. You can re-scan a card at any time from the event view.
How do I share my own card?
Go to the My Card tab and tap “Set Up My Card”. You can scan an existing card, import a QR code or photo, or enter your details manually. Once saved, Thymesis turns them into a QR code that anyone can scan to save you as a contact — tap “Share QR Code” to send it.
Does Thymesis work offline?
Yes. Scanning and organising work without a network connection because everything runs on your device. You only need connectivity for iCloud backup and restore.
